The head of Primorsky Krai Oleg Kozhemyako is ready to support more than 200 Old Believers from Uruguay, Brazil, Bolivia, and Argentina who are ready to move to the region.

Earlier, the Agency for the Human Capital Development in the Far East (AHCD FE) reported that, after a study trip across the Far East regions, more than 200 Old Believers from Uruguay, Brazil, Bolivia, and Argentina are planning to move to Primorye. According to the agency, it is planned to hold a meeting of the interdepartmental work group in Vladivostok in the second half of January 2019.

“We met their church representative personally. And we agreed that the representative of the church in Primorye will visit me soon to discuss all the conditions. I will go to Dersu and to Krasnoarmeisky district, where they live, to see and negotiate with them. We will support them anyway," Kozhemyako answered a question of journalists about resettlement of the Old Believers.

According to the governor, the date of arrival of the Old Believers is still unknown.

According to AHCD FE, there are certain measures that are already being implemented in Primorye to support the Old Believers farmers. Currently, the region has transferred more than 2 thousand hectares of land plots to the ownership; the grants for agricultural production support are allocated, and the assistance in purchase of the equipment is rendered; the legal counseling is provided. According to the agency, currently there are more than 100 Old Believers who have moved under the program of compatriot resettlement in the Far East.
